Supportive Learning Environment in Petersfield

At Jigsaw Montessori Nursery, it's our aim to provide a supportive learning environment, ensuring each child is able to reach their full potential. Our children partake in structured learning activities which are designed to strengthen their communication and language skills, physical, personal, social and emotional development.

We also aim to encourage growth in the following areas:

Literacy

Children are encouraged to link sounds and letters, as they begin to learn to read and write. A wide array of reading materials including books, poems, and other resources are provided to ignite their interest and provide the foundation for a lifelong love of reading.

Mathematics

During their time with us, your child will have many opportunities to develop their numeracy skills (including counting, understanding and using numbers to calculate basic addition and subtraction problems). They will also learn to describe shapes, spaces and make measurements.

Understanding the World

Many activities are developed to help children further their understanding of the wider world and their local community. Learning takes place through exploration and observation. Children will be introduced to a wide array of people, places, and technologies. They will also begin to learn about the environment.

Expressive Arts and Design

Children are encouraged to express their creativity and will have the opportunity to play with many different mediums and materials, sharing ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Partaking in activities such as art, music, dance, role play, movement, design and technology, children will learn many different forms of self-expression.
